I had to rescue a dying hard drive today on a Windows 10 system. Naturally, there was no backup, but I did have a spare SSD drive that could stand in nicely.
The problem was that the dying disk is a 1.4TB and the SSD is a 64GB. Sure the data would all fit, but none of the included utilities with Win10 would shrink the partition down for the new, smaller drive.
I wound up using Marcium Reflect Free (v6). Turned out to be a great utility, worked flawlessly and even recognized the SSD trim settings.
